GET HOOKED
THIS weekend will see the Wagga Classic being staged at the Wiradjuri Reserve.
Last year the numbers were down a little because of a thunderstorm coming through on the Friday - but fingered crossed this won’t happen again.
Tackle World Wagga has got behind the organisers with sponsorship to help make the event bigger and better.
We, along with Wagga Marine, are the only two places that you can pre-register for the event.
This well-run competition will see a massive influx of travelling and local anglers hit the water to fish for a day and half.
With the fishing as good as it’s been the anglers should have a ball landing some great fish.
The native fish when caught must be released after getting them verified by the on water marshal’s, which is a fantastic way to run a fishing competition.
With $25,000 in boats and prizes this event is growing in size and we are proud of the role we are playing in helping the competition prosper.
We’ll be at the headquarters on Saturday night to help with promoting the event so drop by and say hello.
We’ll also have some Wagga Classic specials available for purchase on the night.
Matt Cunneen and his committee must be congratulated for staging this competition because it benefits all of Wagga and promotes Sportfishing in our area.
Well done guys.
Wyangala Dam continues to be the pick of the local dams to fish.
Almost all the impoundments have started to drop in water level but Wyangala continues to fish well.
Trolling a variety of lures has resulted in some good catches of cod and yellowbelly. The standout lure choice has been the timber Rupes lures.
You need to work along rocky outcrops when possible.

Scott, Rob and Josh would like to thank Radio 2WG, the Wagga Daily Advertiser, and The Leader for their support in the promotion of this important event.
