Pair say goodbye to baby weight

Pair say goodbye to baby weight

25 Feb, 2009 09:13 AM
KATIE Blake does not mind carrying around her seven-month-old daughter Ellie.

It’s lugging a few extra kilos of bodyweight which Katie could do without.

The Wagga mum and her friend Louise Lotz – the mother of six-month-old twins Chloe and Richard – have found themselves in a similar situation, prompting them to take part in a nationwide competition.

Katie and Louise are involved in the eight-week Celebrity Slim Challenge where they are supported by nutritionists and Wagga gym Xceler8 as they strive to shed their “baby weight”.

The competition will culminate with the pair travelling to Melbourne on March 31 to be styled by famed UK stylists Trinny and Susannah in front of an audience of 400 people and Channel 7’s A Current Affair cameras.

“It’s not about losing the most weight – the competition focuses more on educating people about the right way to get rid of the extra kilos and how to find the best looks for their shapes so they can feel more confident,” Katie said.

Katie is in her third week of the program and believes she is on track to lose her target weight of between 13 and 15 kilograms.

“I have always led an active lifestyle but since Ellie’s birth I have been at home more and snacking all the time,” she said.

“Through the Celebrity Slim program I have been speaking to nutritionists and have a personal trainer at Xceler8 – where I go three times a week – and it’s making a difference.

“I asked Xceler8 to help me with this challenge and found Finn and the other staff to be extremely supportive and approachable “While I'm on the program I have my sister's hen's night and wedding, and a 30th … I couldn't be doing it at a tougher time.

“But the upside is I’ll be looking great for the wedding.

“Let’s hope Trinny and Susannah give me some great tips for my new shape.”

Well done girls. I lost 23 kilo's on Celebrity slim over 7 months and have kept it off. I find walking regularly, some aerobics on wet days in front of the TV and being a bit careful on carbs and sweets has kept it off. I am now most days on 1 shake and certainly know when I step off and then get back on. I have not found any of the replacements boreing and still look forward to my one shake a day. At least we can get back into it and drop more weight if needed. Too many people get bored and don't give diets a chance and wonder why it goes back. it is all about educating yourself. Well done..
