Romano’s has been a Mecca for partygoers, but the Wagga hotel will be seen in a totally different light when it hosts Church In A?Pub.
Wagga Wagga Evangelical Church (WWEC) will start up the event on Sunday, with weekly meetings planned.
“We want to take God’s word out to the people,” the minister of WWEC Peter Blanch said.
“Some might think it strange that church can meet in a pub – but God doesn’t live in a church building.
“We want those who feel more comfortable in a pub to have the chance to hear what God has to say about things that really matter in our lives.”
Peter said anyone interested is welcome to go
along.
“Romano’s have been really helpful and we’re looking forward to meeting there,” he said.
“This is not a one-off event – we will meet there every Sunday night in an informal, relaxed way. We’re hoping lots of people who just want to check things out about God will come.
“We won’t assume any knowledge about God or the Bible – we want to help people make informed, unpressured decisions in their opinions about God. We’d love to see you there” states Peter.
The new meeting will launch at Romano’s, in function room, on Sunday at 7pm.
Wagga Evangelical already runs a 10am Sunday meeting in Currie Hall at Wagga High School.
