JENI Bomers owns one of the state's finest felines, but her top cat is more than just for show.
The Wagga woman's grandchildren, Latisha and Vanessa Urban, have fun spending countless hours with Soremba Patai and his 10 companions.
"Playing with the cats is every bit as important as showing them," Jeni said.
"The kids are five and two (years old) and they have a great time with them ... and the cats love being played with as well."
But it will be showtime for Soremba Patai and his mates on Saturday when the Riverina Cat Show is held at the Kyeamba Smith Hall.
Soremba Patai is looking to enhance his chances for the NSW Cat of the Year award.
The Persian exotic was runner-up in the title as a kitten and is again a contender at four years of age.
"Soremba Patai has the most gentle nature and he loves everybody, as well as the attention he gets at the shows," Jeni said.
"He also loves showing himself off while lying in the sun ... it's like 'look at me, look at me'."
Jeni will enter 10 felines in the Riverina Cat Show, which will be held at the Wagga Showgrounds venue from 9am to 4pm.
Admission is $2 for an adult, $1 for children and $5 for a family.
