FIVE lucky Wagga residents will have extra spending money for the expensive Christmas holiday period thanks to South Wagga Apex.
Suzanne Martin, Kevin Bean, Stephanie Seiler, Joan Powell and Barbara Swansborough each received a cheque for $100 from South Wagga Apex after entering The South Wagga Apex Leader Food Appeal competition.
Any individual or family who | generously contributed to the South Wagga Apex Leader Appeal had a chance to win one of the five vouchers donated by South Wagga Apex.
Entrants were required to fill out their details on the back of the Leader Appeal coupons and attach the completed form to their bag of goodies for collection.
Barbara admitted on Monday that she was shocked to win one of the five vouchers, admitting she had been more focused on donating the goods than winning a prize.
“I was very surprised,” she said.
“You enter these sorts of things all the time but you never expect to actually hear from them.
“It was a really nice shock so close to Christmas.”
Barbara said, more than likely, she will spend on the money on items for Christmas.
“Most likely the money will be going to Christmas,” she laughed.
“I will be having about 35 family members for Christmas – 30 of them will be adults – so this is a good bonus for the shopping that needs to be done.”
Like Barbara, Joan believes she will spend the money on special Christmas delights.
“I think it will probably be used at Christmas,” she said.
South Wagga Apex representatives Andrew Robertson and Peter Hastie presented the excited winners with their vouchers on Monday.
“We are proud to be able to thank these men and women for the generosity they have shown towards the appeal with the vouchers,” Peter said.
