GET?HOOKED

LAST Sunday we headed out to Berembed Weir to wet a line before the rain came in.

The cod were really active taking cheese, bardie grubs and even a cast spinnerbait. Launching the boat was easy as the river is up a little and navigating above the weir is good.

Between two boats we managed close to 30 fish in a few hours.

Nothing big but heaps of fun all the same.

In two weeks the Lowrance Dash for cash will be staged at Mulwala.

This competition has $10,000 cash in prizes and is fished in three sections over two days.

These dash style events are very exciting to fish as not only do you compete against all the other anglers but you also compete against the clock.

You need to catch your fish as quickly as possible to increase your points score.

This isn’t for everyone but it can be great sport. If you need details give us a ring at the store.

Last weekend saw 400 anglers fish the 4th Wagga Classic in ideal conditions. Good numbers of cod and yellowbelly were caught mostly on bait.

Cheese and worms were the best options for the baitfishermen.

Matt Cunneen and the organising committee should be congratulated for their efforts in running this very popular event.

Everyone we spoke to had nothing but praise for the Wagga Classic Fishing Competition.

Well done guys.
