HEARTS are synonymous with February, as once-a-year romantics express their love on Valentines Day.
For an entirely different reason, a heart has become an important symbol associated with February.
February is HeartKids Awareness month and Wagga residents are being encouraged to support children struggling with Childhood Heart Disease.
Money raised during the month of February funds the crucial support services and awareness and advocacy programs run by HeartKids.
Wagga mother Katrina Brown is hoping families across the city will throw there support behind the appeal.
Katrina’s son Dougal was born with complex cardiovascular problems in 2010.
“There are a number of ways people can help,” she said.
“Brumby’s, Donut King and Michel’s Patisserie are all major supporters of HeartKids.
“During the month of February they donate money from the sale of some of their products to HeartKids.”
