BMX rider Nic Murray is typical of the teenagers Wagga City Council is seeking to have a say on the proposed Bolton Park youth precinct.
Nic heads to the skate park on Bolton Park five times a week, meeting up with friends and making the most of the facilities for bike riders and skateboarders.
"It's a great place to meet new people and learn tricks on the bike," the 16-year-old said.
Nic has welcomed a new blog which has been launched to keep the youth of the city informed of the planned development at Bolton Park, including the expansion of the current skate park.
"The blog is an awesome way for younger people to have their say on what happens," Nic said.
Council is embarking on a project to upgrade the exisiting skate park facilities, as well as incorporating a new youth recreation space at the venue.
"By launching a blog about the development of the youth precinct, we are hoping to engage users of the skate park, keep them informed of where the progress is up to and encourage them to provide feedback in an online environment," Mayor Kerry Pascoe said.
"A blog is an ideal way of being able to get up-to-date information to a wide range of users in a medium that they understand and communicate through on a daily basis."
Convic Design, engaged to provide initial design concepts, has met with council officers, as well as key stakeholders and users of the skate park have met to discuss designs and the broader master plan for the precinct.
