Free workshop to focus on carers

24 Mar, 2010 11:54 AM
MENTAL health and drug and alcohol issues are always a problem.

So often people become so involved in helping those directly affected that the people around them are forgotten.

If you care for a drug or alcohol abuser or someone with a mental health issue, you can attend a free course from March 30 until June 29.

The workshop is an initiative of Calvary Health Care, the Richmond Fellowship, Catholic Community Services, Carer Assist and Greater Southern Area Health Service.

Held on Tuesdays from 10am to 2pm, the program aims to help support and educate carers.

The goal is to improve knowledge in a confidential and trusting manner, and provide skills so carers will be better able to handle their position.

Registration is required, with further information available on 6921 5269.

Lunch will be provided for participants each day between 10am and 2pm.
