ARTISAN baker Bernard Hoff will bring a strong taste of France to the Wagga Food And Wine Festival on Saturday.
Patisseries, crepes suzette, tartlets and cheese and bacon baguettes will be among the goodies on offer at Bernard's stall at the Wagga civic precinct on the shores of the Wollundry Lagoon.
"Basically there will be lots of yummy stuff," Bernard said.
Bernard learnt all the tricks of his trade in the east of France before bringing them to Wagga six years ago.
He achieved a long-held ambition when he opened a new kitchen ? called Artisan Baker So French So Fresh ? on Lake Albert Road in January.
"I have been mainly baking bread and delivering it to Wagga businesses, but my plan is to branch out into the patisseries and have a shop front where people can come and buy them," Bernard said.
Bernard will be among more than 50 stallholders at the festival, which is tipped to draw close to 10,000 people between noon and 10pm.
The size of the venue has doubled to cater for the huge crowd expected to attend. A purpose-built stage ? featuring a giant six-metre by three-metre video screen to ensure all patrons cannot only hear the large number of entertainers but also see them ? will be constructed at the civic precinct.
Entry fee is $5 and patrons can also purchase a wine glass for $5, enabling them to purchase samples of the many fine wines available.
Event organiser Wollundry Rotary Club is hoping to raise more than $30,000 for the chosen cause, which is Wagga's renal dialysis unit.
