The Australian Army Band Kapooka musician will make his feelings known forever when he marries his sweetheart Alanna Fifield on Saturday.

And what better way to wake up for the first time as a married couple than Valentine's Day - recognised universally as the day of love.

"It hadn't even occurred to us that the wedding would be so close to Valentine's Day," Alanna said.

Despite this, Dave is definitely a romantic.

The duo vividly remembers their first Valentine's Day together three years ago.

"We had only been seeing each other for a little more than a week, so I wanted to make a big deal of Valentine's Day and really impress Alanna," Dave said. "There was a Keith Urban song she liked at the time called Got It Right This Time and we could both relate to the lyrics.

"I sat up all night trying to get it right on the guitar and then I called her boss and asked if I could come down and sing it to her when she was knocking off work on Valentine's Day."

Alanna admitted she was shocked when she saw Dave sitting on a chair with a guitar in hand at the real-estate agency where she was employed.

"I was speechless," Alanna said.

Got It Right This Time's significance will be seen when it is played as the bridal waltz at the couple's wedding reception at the Wagga RSL Club.
