SWITCHED on Wagga residents are looking to ensure a bright future by turning off their lights for an hour on Saturday.
Earth Hour is a global event where households and businesses turn off their non-essential lights and other electrical appliances for 60 minutes from 8.30pm to raise awareness of the need to take action on climate change.
The Wagga Marketplace, The Leader and The Daily Advertiser have thrown their support behind Earth Hour in 2010.
To promote awareness, the Marketplace is giving away candles to readers of The Leader and The Daily Advertiser from today until Saturday.
Readers can receive a free candle by cutting out coupons in The Leader today and The Daily Advertiser (last Saturday, Monday, tomorrow, Friday and Saturday editions) and present them to Marketplace staff located next to Fruitmarket Wagga Wagga.
