Bazaar way to buy and sell for kids

03 Mar, 2010 11:44 AM
RECYCLING, creativity and parenting support will be promoted at the Autumn Baby Bazaar on Saturday.

Wagga parents can sell and buy second-hand goods -such as babies and children's clothing, toys and accessories - between 10am and noon at the Police Citizen's Youth Club Hall on Gurwood Street.

Parenting support programs, such as Wagga Birthing and Babies Support Group (BaBs) and the Australian Breastfeeding Association, will also be in the spotlight and there will be creative activities for children

The event is organised by BaBs, which offers discussion, information, education and support for people in the community regarding the issues of pregnancy, birth and parenthood.

Wagga BaBs, an initiative of the Wagga Birth Choices Action Group and affiliated with Maternity Coalition, meets each fortnight, with discussions and presentations covering a range of birthing and baby topics.

From March 10, BaBs will begin meeting in a new venue - the Ashmont Community Centre, on the corner of Tobruk and Blakemore streets - on alternate Wednesdays from 10am to noon, mostly.

The group held its first Baby Bazaar in December and plans to build on its success with similar events at the start of each season.

There is a $2 entry fee for shoppers on Saturday while stallholders pay either $10 or $15 to have a table, depending on the size they require. For stallholder inquiries call Wendy Harper on 0427 278 261.

Further information about the fortnightly meetings may be obtained on the Facebook site (search for Wagga BaBs), by emailing waggababs@gmail.com or calling Kirsty on 0401 523 121 or Jenny on 0418 205 262.
