UP to Crosspoint Care Food Support, at the old Wagga Leagues Club in Gurwood Street. What an asset this volunteer service is to our community. It supplies cheaper food to pensioners and health care card holders and anyone in genuine need. It also provides free bread and produce when available as well as pre-loved toys and clothing also free. It is not only a place to help with the ever-raising costs for those who can't afford the costly prices at bigger stores, but lends a hand in many ways to all who go there. (Contributed)
UP to the people who stopped when my car broke down on Willans Hill on a recent Saturday morning. (Contributed)
UP and thank you to the kind man who retrieved my
flexi-card from the NAB ATM on April 9 and returned it to me in the bank. I was a bit flustered and forgot my pin number as my husband was in hospital. Also, thanks to the kind bank assistant
who tried to help me. (Contributed)
UP and thank you to Sharon, Michael and Chrissie at Wagga Toy Library for organising such fun and interesting sessions for children every week and during the school holidays. I know lots of children who look forward to coming to the library to see your smiling faces. (Contributed)
UP to the young man on Lake Road picking up junk food wrappers and drink containers that had been thrown out of cars or by those who are too tired to put it in bin. I approached him and congratulated him for his effort. He replied “no problem” but pointed out louts had stolen the bin from inside the container near the Catholic church. Our streets are saturated with junk food items – not a great promotion for a city that has won so many awards for cleanliness. Again, good on you young man for your effort. (Contributed)
