DOWN to the residents of a suburban street who allow their dogs to walk around the street at all hours of the night and day barking and laying on the road blocking traffic, and to the pound which after countless phone calls and complaints – even though they are in danger and endangering others – still will not pick them up. DOWN to some Wagga Police officers who feel that it is OK if they talk on their phones while driving but not for others. On a recent Friday I was outside Southcity Shopping Centre and witnessed a police officer on his mobile phone laughing and joking with whom ever he was speaking, he then got into his police car and drove off while still talking on the phone. After I took a picture, I called the station to question this and was advised it was important that police can be contacted via their phones as it can be their only way of contact at times, even though it was clear to see it was a personal call.
